Flying Lead Change Series

Flying Lead Changes can be mysterious. They can seem challenging. We're here to help you understand the dynamics as well as find a successful path to teach both you and your horse.

BOTH Steve and Meggie will be teaching this course. This is a series of classes-when you register you are signing up for all 5!

Jan 12 Session 1: All indoors, all theory. Videos, simulations, drawings, patterns, questions, answers....all the theory you need. This class will take place at the home of Steve and Meggie.

Feb 16 Session 2: Observation. We're going to watch horses in action at all levels of understanding of Flying Lead Changes, in multiple ways (on the ground and in the saddle). *Weather dependent, we may have you all bring horses* This class will take place at Sandalwood Ranch.

March 23 Session 3: Fitness. Both horses and humans need to have a certain level of fitness to achieve flying changes. We will be talking about purity of gait for our horses. You will go home with lots of fitness homework! (Don't worry, no exercise besides riding your horse is required). This class will be at Sandalwood Ranch.

April 20 Session 4: Patterns. We will be building the positive patterns we need for Flying Changes. This class will be at Sandalwood Ranch.

May 11 Session 5: Flying Changes in action. This class will be at Sandalwood Ranch.

Cost: All 5 full days, with both Meggie and Steve *$1000.
*If paid prior to January 1 2019.
January 1 and later: $1250.

Pre-registration required. Contact Meggie to register. andrews.meggie@gmail.com.

The Essentials of Horsemanship

Most people spend a horses life trying to achieve their horsemanship goals. Everybody knows horsemanship is a journey of never-ending self-improvement. This clinic will empower and educate you to fast track your path to your goals by teaching your horse "The Essentials." Do not confuse this clinic as a basics clinic, as it is beyond the basics. It is The Essentials that are being missed (or not done with quality) by most horses and humans that I come across. This course will challenge you physically, mentally and emotionally. It will take understanding, patience and trust, and it's also going to take some courage, grit and focus.

In this course you'll learn necessary skills and habits to achieve a respectful partnership; positive body positioning and proper footfalls to develop the horses' top-line. This will lead to a happy, healthy, powerful yet calm partner. You will be provided all the information you'll need to set you and your horse up for a successful life together. However, it will take more than two days for you to acquire these skills and habits, and it will be up to you to have the discipline and focus to continue to develop these Essentials to the point where they become second nature.

If you're up for the challenge, I'd like to invite you to join in on the fun. Let's up your game and get you leading by example! See you down the trail!

2-day clinic, 9-4 each day
$350

Auditors welcome for $25/day, $40 for both days.

Stalls and hook up available for a fee.

Horse and Human Development Camp

Super charge your horsemanship skills with this fun, learning-instensive clinic. You'll get the best of both worlds, horse training and horsemanship time with your horse. Bring something to write with because it will be information dense.

The format for the 5 day event is as follows:
Wednesday - Friday:
I spend one hour of development time with your horse, talking through what I'm feeling, doing, and how you can achieve the best your horse has to offer. Everyone gets the benefit of learning about each different horse, where you'll learn tool handling techniques, ways to apply pressure, psychology games, foundation to performance maneuvers and much more. There will be plenty of time for questions. (Time dependent on number of participants, it might be all day or just half day).

Saturday - Sunday: 9:00 - 4:00
Now it's your turn. Your horse has just had 3 days working with me, and it's time to re-connect you with your partner. You'll have 2 full days with your horse under my instruction, where we'll review the past couple of days and make sure everyone is up to speed, go more in depth with that new knowledge, and make sure that everyone has a plan and knows how to keep advancing on their own once they leave. I need you to be empowered and confident that you can continue to advance in the absence of a professional.

Space is limited to 6 participants, so this will be a small, personal event. Registration is required, call or email to reserve your spot.

Finesse Training Sequence Clinic Co-Taught with Micaela Love

3505 Rohrer Road, Wadsworth, OH 44281

Micaela Love (3-star Instructor and Game of Contact Instructor) and Meggie Andrews (3-Star Instructor) are teaming up to bring you an Advancing Level 3-4 Clinic focusing on The Finesse Training Sequence. One of the problems with riding with concentrated reins, or ‘contact,’ is that horses easily feel blocked and trapped. Their strides get short and choppy, they come behind the bit, they have trouble going forward, and may even chomp and foam. Worse still, many riders get stiff and lose their smiles. But when you follow Linda’s sequence, the opposite happens – it puts the fun back into Finesse! You learn how to get your horse freely forward, make transitions with just your seat and energy, relieve brace, build suppleness, and develop balance and straightness – not to mention feeling your horse reach for the bit in a desire to hold your hand! Finesse takes your sensitivity for the partnership with your horse to a whole new level.

There are 10 steps in the Finesse Training Sequence. The first six are for Levels 3-4 Finesse, while the final four build to collection. To give you an idea, Contact is #7. No matter how far you want to take this, you’ll establish a fine foundation for Finesse by teaching your horse this simple sequence. In this clinic we will be focusing on steps 1-6. We will play On Line, FreeStyle and Finesse over the course of this 3-day Clinic.

Pre-requisits: Riders must be conifdent to walk, trot and canter in a group, and be a solid level 3/4 Parelli Student.

Cost:
Riders $550
Horse Board $10/day
Gallery Students $25/day or $60 for all three days

Register with Micaela via email: info@lovehorsemanship.com
Please see registreation forms poasted on page.
Registration deadline is October 1.

What Micaela Love has to say about The Finesse Training Sequence:
"The Finesse Training Sequence is something that has been evolving since I started riding with Linda back in 2013. Being on the ground floor as Linda meticulously developed each step and used us as her guinea pigs was a priceless experience!

As a customer and student, you should know that Linda's heart - and many sleepless nights - went into shaping this concept into the powerful and yet achievable sequence you will see in this system.

I truly believe that this is the "missing link" that will now help riders bridge the gap between FreeStyle and Finesse, simultaneously filling in the hole that swallows so many of our students' confidence around precision riding. Linda is constantly striving to educate us in the clearest and most effective way possible. This sequence breaks down the big picture of Finesse and offers it in bite-size pieces of information for both the rider and the horse!"
